MD-roll tension device

We have developed a unique roll tension device (MD roll) that improves the weaknesses of conventional roll tension devices and enables clean winding without causing scratches.  Since 1992, it has been adopted by many customers and has continued to operate smoothly, and has received high praise from customers. In particular, it is widely used as a tension device for soft materials such as colored steel sheets, magnetic steel sheets, glossy materials, plated materials, and aluminum, which are sensitive to scratches, dirt, and heat.

Features
1. No scratches or stripes on the slit stips surface.
Since the slit strip rotates the MD roll, it rotates in sync with the speed of the material without slipping, so there is no damage. There are no grooves on the roll, so there are no patterns such as roll marks.

2. All strips, wide strips and narrow strips can be rolled up with uniform tension. The MD roll absorbs the difference in speed of each slit by the difference in the amount of deformation of the elastic body, and by generating uniform tension, it can roll up both wide and narrow products neatly.

3. It is an energy-saving type tension device with easy tension setting. No cooling water is required. The MD roll uses an electric motor to brake the MD roll and convert it into electric energy, and the generated electric power is returned to the factory, so no electric power is used. This is an energy-saving tension device. The tension of the MD roll can be easily set by adjusting the volume, and taper tension and fine tension adjustments can be made. Since it is not a friction method, a cooling device is not required. It can be used safely in hot and cold regions such as Southeast Asia.

4. Workability is good. Contributes to shortening setup time.
The MD roll can be used as a feed roll when threading.  In addition, since there are no grooves on the roll, it is easy to set the separator, and there is no need to center the main body of the device, so strips can be threaded quickly. Since the MD roll rolls up straight, depending on the material/slit width, it is possible to wind without using an overarm separator. As a result, threading and setting time can be greatly reduced, leading to increased efficiency.

5. High maintainability contributes to lower running costs.
As a guideline for MD roll maintenance, the surface should be grinded and reused once every 1.5 to 2 years in one shift. The grinding cycle differs depending on the material/thickness/burr height of the material to be slit.  If the roll diameter becomes smaller than the specified diameter due to regrinding, we will replace the MD rubber disc and reuse it.   The standard for MD rubber disc replacement is regrinding 3-4 times, so it can be used for 4.5-8 years.
